Dear Parents / Carers

Let me start by saying how delighted I am that you have chosen to have your child educated at Woodbridge Primary School. As Governors, we are hugely proud of the excellent reputation the school has locally. We consistently provide pupils with a strong academic education (achieving some of the highest achieving results in the area) aligned with our commitment to educating the whole child, as exemplified through our 7Cs: confidence, curiosity, creativity, commitment, consideration, communication, craftsmanship.

Having worked in education at a local, regional and national level, I am honoured to have served the school as Vice Chair and Chair since 2009. Throughout that time, I have seen the school move from strength to strength, continually achieving hugely impressive results, whilst simultaneously focussing on ensuring all pupils build a lifelong love of learning in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

We know that we still have more work to do, as we move from Good to Outstanding (where we all believe this school should be). As Governors, we continue to work hard "behind the scenes" to support the Headteacher, Teachers and staff to achieve our joint goal of Outstanding recognition from Ofsted. We have realigned and streamlined the Governing Body, moving to a skills based model, to ensure that our dedicated team of Governors and Associates can use their skills and experience to provide robust accountability, guidance and oversight. In our most recent Ofsted report, inspectors praised the close links between Governors and the School, and commented positively on our Governance model.

More than anything else, we know that they key to providing a great learning experience, lies in the support each child receives both in school and at home; to support and champion them to achieve and exceed their expectations. We know, that as parents, you want the very best for your children. With your continued support, we at Woodbridge Primary School, are all committed to achieving this goal and determined to ensure every child's experience is rewarding, fulfilling and successful.

Yours sincerely,

Matthew Freeman
